One of the main problems that our producers face is the wide gap between the producer and the prices that reach the consumer, said the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment, Dr Maria Panayiotou.

The Minister of Agriculture, as part of her visit to supermarkets and butchers today to learn about the checks being carried out ahead of the Easter holidays, made statements on the measure e-coffee, which was announced by the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment.

He mentioned that "one of the main problems that our producers face is the wide gap that exists between the producer and the prices that reach the consumer."

Therefore, he continued, "we are working on a number of tools to be able to address this whole issue."

"One of the first tools that we have already put in place is the e-wafer. Both consumers and our own producers can search online, on the website of the Department of Agriculture.

He went on to inform that a specific community has been made on viber, where the average production prices and average retail prices of fruit and vegetables are recorded, so that there can be transparency as to the prices produced and the prices sold and reaching the consumer.
