The steady and obvious improvement in epidemiological indicators, the reduction in hospitalizations, the drop in the number of cases and in the positivity rate, show that the pandemic containment measures we have implemented have worked. This allows us to keep our promise to relax the measures, based on the recommendations of the Scientific Advisory Committee. The excellent response so far to the call for vaccination and compliance with the Ministry of Health's protocols give us a shield of protection and a sense of optimism that this whole adventure will soon come to an end. Let us not forget, however, that the road is long and we need everyone's cooperation and compliance with the decisions of the Scientific Advisory Committee in order to be able to take the extra steps back to normality.
The aim of the Ministry of Health and the Scientific Advisory Committee is to simplify the measures to contain the pandemic, with more easily understandable guidelines.
I would also like to mention that the Ministry of Health, taking into account the needs and concerns of citizens, and as a sign of practical support for children with diabetes, has requested that the necessary actions be taken immediately to approve the purchase of the necessary supplies and equipment for the administration of insulin through a transdermal pump (patch) to children up to 18 years of age and continuous glucose monitoring through a special sensor to children up to 13 years of age with Type 1 Diabetes. As a result, the Cabinet of Ministers has today approved the call for tender for the purchase through a newly established procedure of this necessary equipment and consumables.
Therefore, the Cabinet of Ministers has decided:
a) from 8 March, as virus positive persons may be released on day 7, provided they secure a negative test (Rapid or PCR). If the result is positive, the procedure may be repeated until negative, or until the 10th day of self-limitation. The decision is retroactive.
from 8 March 2022, such close contacts of a confirmed positive case who have not been isolated from the virus positive person (e.g. parents caring for a minor child, etc.) instead of remaining in self-containment for 10+7 days, may, after the case is released on day 7, undergo testing (Rapid or PCR) and if they secure a negative result, be released. The decision shall have retroactive effect.
[C] from 8 March 2022, the approval of the update plan for COVID-19 measures. The plan will include the premises and occupational activities that will be classified based on risk, and citizens will know what the appropriate requirements are to enter those premises for either persons with a history of vaccination or persons without a history of vaccination. The plan will include 4 categories into which premises will be classified:
a) high risk
b) medium risk
c) low risk
d) short stay premises where SafePasses will not be required.
The provisions of the update plan will be announced later today.
d) from 8 March 2022, the increase in capacity in retail businesses, casinos, gyms.
e) from 8 March 2022,
increasing the maximum number of people at events including weddings and christenings to 500 people, provided that the area of the venue allows for a ratio of 1.5 square metres per person.
f) lifting the ban on holding student parades. A special protocol with guidelines will be issued.
