Any public claims referring to the involvement of Cyprus through its infrastructure or its territories in the case of a confrontation related to Lebanon are completely unfounded. Cyprus has never provided and will never provide facilities for any offensive action against any country.

The Republic of Cyprus is a reliable factor of stability and a recognised regional centre for humanitarian operations, on the basis of its excellent relations with all states in the region.

This image of Cyprus is based on its credibility and predictability. Through its multi-layered practical initiatives, its strong engagement and active diplomacy, including the maritime corridor for humanitarian aid to Gaza, it contributes to consolidating the necessary conditions for achieving regional peace, prosperity and security.

Cyprus is a strong supporter of the resolution of conflicts through peaceful means and dialogue, in accordance with international law and the UN Charter.

In particular, as far as Lebanon is concerned, the excellent relations between the two countries are well known. President Christodoulides has visited the country twice in the last three months, taking the initiative to provide a one billion euro financial support package from the European Union to strengthen stability in Lebanon.

Cyprus is not part of the problem. As is widely accepted, its diplomatic footprint is part of the solution.
