During yesterday's (26.01.24) regular briefing of the UN international media, the Representative of the Secretary-General, Mr. Stéphane Dujarric said that the Personal Envoy of the Secretary-General for Cyprus, Ms. María Ángela Holguín Cuéllar, will travel to Cyprus this weekend for her first visit to the island since assuming her mandate earlier this month. She added that on 30 January she will meet with the Greek Cypriot and Turkish Cypriot leaders, Nicos Christodoulides and Ersin Tatar respectively, and during her stay Ms Holguín will also engage with a wide range of interlocutors from local institutions to civil society, including women's and youth groups.
