It concerns the prevention of corruption in Central Governments and Law Enforcement Agencies

In the context of Cyprus' assessment for GRECO's Fifth Round, which took place in Nicosia from 12-16 December 2022, the Evaluation Report of Cyprus for the Fifth Round was adopted on 9 June 2023, which is published today, 2 October 2023, simultaneously on the website of the Legal Service of the Republic www.law.gov.cy and the website of the Council of Europe's Group of States against Corruption (GRECO) https:/www.coe.int/en/web/greco

The GRECO Fifth Round of Evaluation addresses the prevention of corruption and promotion of integrity in Central Governments (with High Executive Powers) and Law Enforcement Agencies.

GRECO, in the framework of its assessment, addresses 22 Recommendations to Cyprus: 13 Recommendations concerning the Central Governments (Section A) and 9 Recommendations concerning the Cyprus Police (Section B).

According to Rule 30.2 of GRECO's Rules of Procedure, the Cypriot authorities have an obligation to report on the measures taken to implement the Recommendations by 31 December 2024.

The GRECO Report itself, in its original English and in Greek translation, is posted on the website of the Legal Service, field "Information/Typesheets-Announcements".
