The Labour Inspectorate announces that on 4 August 2023 the Ordinances entitled "The Regulations on Safety and Health at Work" were published in the Official Gazette of the Republic of Cyprus. Occupational Safety and Health (Code of Practice for Small LPG Installations) Order 2023 (CPR 254/2023)" and "The Occupational Safety and Health (Code of Practice for the Storage of LPG Cylinders) Order 2023 (CPR 255/2023)".
With the publication of the above Codes of Practice, the corresponding previous Codes (Decree 176/2010 and Decree 201/2011). The new Codes KDP 254/2023 and KDP 255/2023 are posted on the website of the Department of Labour Inspection in the section "Legislation", in the thematic section concerning LPG.
In the new Codes, verbal corrections have been made, LPG-related legislation and standards have been updated, new provisions and schemes have been incorporated to comply with the provisions of the Occupational Safety and Health (Installation, Operation, Maintenance and Control of LPG Installations) Regulations 2021 (K.Regulations 189/2021).
The Codes technically support the legislative provisions of the above Regulations.
The Codes technically support the legislative provisions of the above Regulations. Their application is not binding. However, compliance with their provisions is a presumption of compliance that the LPG owner satisfies the provisions of the Regulations as applicable to small LPG installations and the storage of LPG cylinders.
