[PIO] Publication of EU Weekly Notifications of unsafe products notified in the RAPEX Safety Gate System

The Consumer Protection Service (CPC) of the Ministry of Energy, Trade and Industry, as the competent authority in Cyprus for the operation and management of the European Rapid Information Exchange System on Dangerous Non-Food Products, informs consumers that during the week starting 20/05/24 (RAPEX - Report 21) 110 products presenting a risk to their health and safety have been notified to the System. These products were identified in the markets of various European Union (EU) Member States and subsequently notified to the RAPEX Safety Gate System.

Consumers can find out about the dangerous products on the website of the CPS.

The 110 products have been distributed for market surveillance purposes as follows:

  1. Twenty-eight (28) to the Consumer Protection Agency.
  2. Sixty-seven (67) to the Department of Pharmaceutical Services.
  3. Seven (7) in the Department of Environment.
  4. Six (6) in the Department of Labor Inspection.
  5. Two (2) in the Department of Road Transportation.

The products relevant to the Consumer Protection Service, and the corresponding associated risks, are described here.

Please note that products with serial numbers 1 to 25 have been assessed by the European Commission as posing a serious risk, while products with numbers 26 to 28 have been assessed by the European Commission as posing a lower risk.
