The Board of Variance Study announces that a Public Hearing will be held for the purpose of considering the application of Andreas G. Ttofinis Estates Ltd (AMX/0004/2019), which concerns the granting of planning permission in derogation of the provisions of the Paralimnios Policy Statement, for alterations to an existing building (Evalena Hotel) to increase its capacity to 179 bedrooms/358 beds, on plot No. 554, of F/S No. 2-295-377, Section 16, in the Municipality of Paralimnios, Famagusta District. The application was submitted under the provisions of Articles 26(2) and 26(3) of the Town and Country Planning (Amendment) Law 142(I)/99 and the Town and Country Planning (Derogations) Regulations 1999 (C.D.309/99).
The Public Hearing, which is a form of public dialogue and consultation between interested parties, is intended to ensure conditions of transparency and democracy in the application examination process.
The main purpose of holding the Hearing is to provide more complete and accurate information to the Deviation Study Board, so that this body can come up with a comprehensive and informed recommendation to the Council of Ministers for the final decision.
