In order to promote gender equality at work and in entrepreneurship, the Office of the Gender Equality Commissioner and the Cyprus Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCCI) announce the launch of their cooperation, which consists in undertaking the following important actions in the near future:

[*]Creation of a Gender Equality Working Group with representatives from the Commissioner's Office and business members of KEBE, with the aim of promoting gender equality in the workplace. [*]Codification of the challenges and barriers faced by women with regard to their participation in the Boards of Directors of organisations and companies and access to leadership positions. On the basis of the analysis carried out, practical actions will be designed to remove these barriers. [*]Work with companies on equal pay. It is envisaged to work with 10 enterprises, members of the CIBE, employing 50-150 workers. The aim is to create annual action plans to promote equality in enterprises and to explore the potential pay gap, horizontal and vertical, with a view to further reducing it.

In this context, the Office of the Gender Equality Commissioner and the CCBE will formalize this important cooperation by signing a Memorandum of Understanding.
