The Parliamentary Committee on Internal Affairs met today, Thursday, 10 March 2022, and debated the Bill "The Cyprus News Agency (Amendment) Law of 2021" (File No. 23.01.062.192-2021), the purpose of which is to amend the basic law in order to introduce therein an enabling legislative provision for the adoption of Regulations regarding the operation of the Cyprus News Agency (CIF) Welfare Fund.
The Commission studied the text of the bill, heard the views of the stakeholders and, having completed the discussion both in principle and in article, decided to take a position on its provisions at its next meeting.
