The Parliamentary Committee on the Environment met today, Wednesday, 2 February 2022, to continue the article-by-article debate on the Waste (Amendment) (No. 3) Law of 2021 (File No.: 23.01.062.225-2021)", in the presence of representatives of the Department of Environment of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment and the Legal Service of the Republic.
The purpose of the proposed law is to amend the Waste Law in order to achieve the prevention and reduction of the impact of certain plastic products on the environment, as well as to facilitate the transition to a circular economy in the context of the harmonization of the Republic with the provisions of Directive (EU) 2019/904 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 5 June 2019.
The discussion of this topic will continue at the next Commission meeting on 9 February 2022.
