On 26 April 2006, the Council of Europe established 28 January as Personal Data Protection Day, since 25 years ago, on 28 January 1981, Convention 108 on the protection of individuals with regard to automatic processing of personal data was opened for signature in Strasbourg.
In view of Data Protection Day, the Commissioner for Personal Data Protection, Ms Irene Loizidou Nicolaidou, informs that she is at the disposal of the media for enlightenment and information.
2022 is a milestone year, as it marks 20 years of the presence of the Office of the Data Protection Commissioner and one year of the presence of the Information Commissioner's Office, whose duties are carried out by the Data Protection Commissioner concerned.
The Privacy Commissioner/Information Commissioner will hold a press conference on Tuesday, 1 February 2022, at 10:00 a.m. in the Press and Information Office Auditorium.
