The new platform EKFRACY, which aims to strengthen the participation of young people aged 18-35 in democratic processes, was presented today in the hall of the Presidential Palace. The aim is to boost young people and familiarise them with democracy from an early age. The State actively encourages the participation and inclusion of more young people in democratic processes. Promoting young people's views is vital for democracy, for the development of society and for tackling everyday challenges.
During the presentation, the ways in which young people can use the platform to showcase their ideas and contribute to shaping the future civil society were discussed. In particular, the platform will be available to the public from this afternoon, starting with the key topical issue of housing. Our young people will be able, by answering the questionnaire posted on the platform, to express their views on the issue. Also important is the area where users of the platform can raise their own questions to which state officials will be invited to respond, with the President of the Republic himself and the Council of Ministers prominent among them.
The platform will be available to the public from this afternoon and all interested parties are invited to visit it, register and discover the possibilities it offers on the website.
The Platform is managed by the Cyprus Youth Organisation and supervised by the Presidency and the Office of the Citizens' Commissioner.
