The Cyprus Academy of Sciences, Letters and Arts congratulates its Member, Academician Marios Polycarpou, who has been awarded the IEEE Frank Rosenblatt Technical Field Award, which is the highest distinction for scientists conducting pioneering research in the field of Artificial Intelligence.
The award ceremony was held on 02/06/2024 in Japan, during the IEEE World Congress on Computational Intelligence (IEEE WCCI 2024).
Academician Marios Polycarpou is a Founding Member of the Academy and President of the Class of Sciences. His new distinction adds to a plethora of other honours, including his election as a member of the European Academy of Sciences (Academia Europaea), receipt of the IEEE Neural Networks Pioneer Award, receipt of an ERC Synergy Grant and ERC Advanced Grant, as well as the upgrade of the research centre "Koios", which he directs to a European Centre of Excellence.
