On the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the tragic events of the coup d'état and the Turkish invasion, the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth is organizing a one-day conference on: "I know, I do not forget, I claim: Our Occupied Schools. Luminous marches through time". The main objective of the conference is to get to know schools in the occupied territories, in order to highlight the contribution of education to the history and culture of our country and to keep unquenched the desire to return to our ancestral homes.
The Workshop will take place on Friday, 14 June 2024, at the P.O.E.D. Event Hall (184 Kyrenia Avenue, 2112 Platy Aglantzia), from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. It is addressed to teachers and students of Primary and Secondary Education, as well as to the general public.
The conference will feature presentations on schools in the occupied territories, as well as projects prepared by students of schools of all levels that are relevant to the theme of this Action (research on the occupied schools, short films, songs, exhibitions of photographic or other relevant material).
