Foreign Minister Ioannis Kasoulides leaves tonight for Athens, where he will pay his first official visit since taking office recently.
As part of the visit, Mr. Kasoulides will hold a private meeting with his Greek counterpart Mr. Nikos Dendias, followed by extended consultations in the presence of official delegations of the two Foreign Ministries. At the end of the consultations, the two Ministers will make statements to the press.
The discussions between Mr. Kasoulides and Mr. Dendias are expected to focus, inter alia, on bilateral relations and their further deepening in a wide range of areas, the Cyprus problem, the situation in the Eastern Mediterranean region and the wider Middle East, multilateral cooperation formations as well as other regional and European issues of common interest.
As part of the visit, Mr. Kasoulides will be received in separate meetings by the President of the Hellenic Republic Ms. Katerina Sakellaropoulou and the Prime Minister of Greece Mr. Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
The Foreign Minister returns to Cyprus on Wednesday evening, 19 January.
