The Cyprus Organization for Standardization (CYS), as the national standardization body of Cyprus, expands its circle and network of collaborations at national and European level. Being a pioneer, it is oriented towards cooperation for the implementation of actions with the ultimate aim of promoting standards through European programmes. In this context, it participates in projects aimed at strengthening the national standardisation system and developing expertise in the wide range of services it provides to its stakeholders.
By participating in the Erasmus+ DigiSTAN Project - "Moving Forward to New Digital Era through Standardisation", funded by the European Lifelong Learning Programme Management Foundation (LLP), it looks forward to leading the Agency towards digital transformation.
With the support of its partner in the Project, the German national electrotechnical standardisation organisation VDE, the Project aims to properly prepare CYS for the digital transformation, to harmonise, where necessary, its processes in the context of the implementation and the New European Standardisation Strategy. This Strategy aims to create a sustainable, green and digital transformation of Europe's ecosystem.
The workshop will take place on 7 and 8 March 2024 in Nicosia. Representatives from the national standardisation system, such as national representatives in European and/or International technical standardisation committees and members of national and reflexive standardisation committees have been invited and will participate in it.
Recognising the need for modernisation, CYS is organising this workshop which focuses on the area of training of members of the national standardisation system and its technical experts in order to draw best practices and methods through a continuous flow of best practices and methods. It is expected to exchange views on digital education and training tools for experts, followed by a presentation by VDE on E-Mentoring.
E-Mentoring is a new, dynamic field, applied to educational practice and provides opportunities for remote support and advice on difficulties and needs faced by the mentored.
