[PIO] MP Kostis Efstathiou will participate in a meeting of the Legal and Human Rights Committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of the

MP Kostis Efstathiou, member of the Cypriot delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), will leave on Monday, 20 May for Paris to participate in a meeting of the Assembly's Legal and Human Rights Committee, which will take place on 21 May 2024.

During the session, Mr Efstathiou will inform the Commission of the conclusions of the round table discussion on the enforcement of judgments of the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR), organised by the Council of Bars and Law Societies of Europe (CCBE) on 23 April 2024 in Brussels, in which he participated as a representative of the Commission.

The Commission will also address the legal aspects and human rights violations as a result of the Russian aggression in Ukraine, the 90th anniversary of the Great Famine in Ukraine (Holodomor) and the repressive effects of Julian Assange's detention on human rights defenders.
