The Statistical Office announces the release of the bi-monthly bulletin "Monthly Economic Indicators", for the period January - August 2023. The bulletin presents the main short-term economic indicators for the Cypriot economy for the last months until August 2023, as well as comparative data for the last four years, which were available until 11 October 2023.
Note: The trend depicts the long-term evolution of a series observed over a long period of time. It is the result of influences such as population growth, technological development and general economic growth.
The Manufacturing sector in January - July 2023 saw a 2.9% increase compared to January - July 2022.
The total area of Approved Building Permits reached 1.310.3 thousand square meters in the period January - July 2023, an increase of 2.6% compared to the same period last year.
Total Motor Vehicle Registrations recorded an increase of 28.1%, reaching 29,673 in the period January - August 2023. Private saloon cars increased to 19,227, up 26.8% and light trucks increased to 2,171, up 8.4% compared to January - August 2022.
The Consumer Price Index increased 4.0% in the period January - August 2023, compared to the same period last year.
Total Imports of Goods amounted to €8,610.2 million for the period January - August 2023, an increase of 10.7% and total Exports of Goods amounted to €2,773.6 million,
Tourist Arrivals amounted to 2,648,795 in the period January-August 2023, compared to 2,127,172 in the corresponding period of 2022, an increase of 24.5%.
