The Statistical Office announces the release of the bi-monthly bulletin "Monthly Economic Developments" for the period January-June 2024. The bulletin presents the main economic developments for the Cyprus economy for the last months up to June 2024, as well as comparative data for the last four years, which were available until 12 August 2024.
Note: Trend depicts the long-term evolution of a series observed over a long period of time. It is the result of influences such as population growth, technological development and general economic growth.
Manufacturing Production in the January-May 2024 period increased 4.9% compared to the January-May 2023 period.
The total area of Approved Building Permits reached 1.032.6 thousand square meters in the period January-May 2024, an increase of 13.4% compared to the same period last year.
Total Motor Vehicle Registrations recorded an increase of 19.2%, reaching 26,250 in the period January-June 2024. Private saloon cars increased to 18,200, up 26.9%, and light trucks increased to 2,369, up 43.5% compared to the January-June 2023 period.
The Consumer Price Index increased by 2.1% in the January-June 2024 period, compared to the same period last year.
Total imports of goods amounted to €5,557.7 million for the January-June 2024 period, a decrease of 14.4% and total exports of goods amounted to €1,985.9 million,
Tourist Arrivals amounted to 1,652,475 in the period January-June 2024, compared to 1,613,690 in the corresponding period of 2023, an increase of 2.4%.
