On 15 December 2021, the deputy of the Ecologists Ms Alexandra Attalidou forwarded a question to the Minister of Interior, which she rushed, for obvious reasons, to make public before receiving an answer. In her letter she asked "why (the Ministry of Interior) violated the Population Registry Law and did not send information to the House of Representatives about the persons it intended to bring before the Council of Ministers for the granting of exceptional naturalisation, as its predecessors did".
In addition to the written reply of the Minister of the Interior sent to the Councillor of the Ecologists on 21 January 2022, which we are releasing today, the Ministry of the Interior, in lieu of any other reply, is also releasing the letters dated 19/7/21 and 29/7/21, sent to An. Director of the House of Representatives, prior to the Cabinet meetings of 22 and 30 July, which of course refute any untrue allegations made by Ms Attalidou.
It would be more appropriate for her, as a representative of the people in Parliament, before making such statements, to at least be informed, much less when she alleges a violation of the law by a public authority.
We hope that she is possessed of decency and for this she will apologise.
