In the midst of the unprecedented spike in cases in our country due to the Omicron variant, the Ministry of Health informs citizens that on a daily basis the data are evaluated and any problems that arise at sampling points or vaccination centres are recorded and the competent services of the Ministry of Health are taking appropriate action to better serve citizens. More than 100 thousand tests are carried out every day, an extremely high number in proportion to the population, in order to stop the spread of the virus in the community. The Ministry of Health has already proceeded to increase the number of sampling points, as well as staffing the points in all provinces, and the people staffing these points are making superhuman efforts to provide better and proper service to citizens. Therefore, the Ministry of Health appeals to the citizens to show patience and cooperation.
Vaccinations of children aged 5-11 years
Regarding the vaccinations of children aged 5-11 years arranged at the vaccination centre of the State Fair in Nicosia, with the cooperation of the Cyprus Paediatric Society, from 8 am to 2 pm, 640 vaccinations were carried out.
It is reminded that at all vaccination centres throughout Cyprus on 3 and 4 January 2022, from 8 am to 2 pm, children aged 5-11 years will be served only by appointment at the following locations:
Nicosia
A) State Fair - Centre A'
B) Maternity and Child Welfare Centre - Latsia Health Centre (increase in daily appointments)
Limassol
A) Spyros Kyprianou Sports Centre - Centre A'
B) Maternity and Child Welfare Centre - Old Hospital (increase in daily appointments)
Larnaca
Maternity and Child Welfare Centre - Old Hospital Hospital (increase in daily appointments)
Famagusta
Maternity and Child Welfare Centre - Famagusta Hospital (increase in daily appointments)
Paphos
Maternity and Child Welfare Centre - Famagusta Hospital (increase in daily appointments)

- In parallel at other locations of vaccination centres, on 3 and 4 January 2022, people aged 12 years and over will also be served by making an appointment through the Vaccination Gateway or through the free walk-in centres from 8am to 6pm.
- However, due to the increased number of appointments at the State Fair and Spyros Kyprianou Sports Centre vaccination centres, walk-in centres for people aged 12 years and over will be open from 2 pm to 6 pm.
