The Minister of Health, Mr Michael Damianos, will travel on Sunday, 26 May 2024, to Geneva, Switzerland, to participate in the 77th World Health Assembly (WHA77), convened by the World Health Organization, from 27 to 31 May 2024.
The first meeting of the World Health Assembly was held in July 1948 and has been held every year since then to provide international coordination on health-related issues. It is the highest decision-making body of the World Health Organization.
The theme of this year's Health Assembly is "All for Health, Health for All". As part of this leading international meeting on health issues, Mr Damianos will represent the country and address the plenary session. In addition, Mr Damianos will hold bilateral meetings to seek partnerships and synergies. Mr Damianos returns to Cyprus on Wednesday, 29 May 2024.
