Αγαπημένοι μαθητές, αγαπημένες μαθήτριες,
Έρχονται μέρες γιορτών. Τα Χριστούγεννα, η Πρωτοχρονιά και μετά τα Φώτα. Γιορτάζουμε και φέτος μαζί με όλους τους χριστιανούς στην Ευρώπη και σε όλο τον κόσμο τη γέννηση του Ιησού Χριστού. Θυμόμαστε ότι ο Χριστός ήρθε στον κόσμο ως άνθρωπος και μας έδειξε τον δρόμο της αγάπης, της κατανόησης και της αδελφοσύνης. Γύρισε και κοίταξε και φρόντισε τους φτωχούς και ταπεινούς, τους πάσχοντες και καταφρονημένους. Μας έμαθε να νοιαζόμαστε για τον συνάνθρωπό μας και να στεκόμαστε ο ένας δίπλα στον άλλο. Ήρθε και έφερε το μεγάλο μήνυμα της πίστης μας και του Θεού, την αγάπη. Έτσι κι όλοι εμείς που θα βρεθούμε αυτές τις μέρες σε γιορτινή ατμόσφαιρα, ας κρατάμε το μήνυμά Του, ότι ο άνθρωπος είναι φτιαγμένος από αγάπη και για την αγάπη.
Θα γιορτάσετε στο σπίτι με την οικογένειά σας, όπως και αλλού με όλους τους δικούς σας και φίλους σας. But we must not stop to observe health rules with care. For the second year, we will experience the holidays with the pandemic and coronavirus right around the corner. So we should not only continue, but be doubly careful during the holidays. We should take all those necessary precautions that we have learned in school and follow the guidelines given by the state more broadly. Let us not let this disease spoil either our own holidays or the holidays of others.
But with it comes New Year's Day in a few days. A new year, 2022, will open before us. It is an opportunity to make dreams and plans, to give way to hope. Along with hope for a better year and a better world, let us also put our determination. Let's think of things we want to do and achieve. Most importantly, let us reflect on how we can become even better people. How we can best use all our potential and talent. To this end, let us also think about how much our school can give us for our future. Our future that together will be the future of our country and the world at large.
Let's set a goal to make the most of our school and attendance with the new year, how we will benefit from the care our teachers give us. For each and every one of you to strive to be punctual and willing, to cooperate and make efforts to educate and train yourselves to the best of your ability, also cultivating all those skills needed in a competitive world that will prepare you for the rest of your lives.
With one more year to go and a new year ahead, let us remember that time passes but a large part of our country remains occupied and enslaved, for 47 years now. From afar we look at the Pentadaktylus, we bring to mind Famagusta, Kyrenia and Morphou. But inside us we keep the determination not to forget our lands and to do everything we can to free our land from foreign occupation.

With thanks from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth and from me personally for the special efforts you are making at school through the pandemic, I note that in these days when the world is being tested by the pandemic and we often see around us signs of a crisis of values, with many evils always plaguing the earth and our societies, the education that you represent and the spiritual values remain a precious ark of man, a balm and a force of hope for a better tomorrow. Χαίρομαι που συνεχίζετε τις προσπάθειες στον ευγενή στίβο της παιδείας και περιμένοντας ότι έτσι θα συνεχίσετε, θέλω να ξέρετε ότι το Υπουργείο θα είναι συμπαραστάτης σας.
Αγαπητές και αγαπητοί εκπαιδευτικοί, αγαπητές και αγαπητοί μαθητές και μαθήτριες, εύχομαι σε όλες και σε όλους από καρδιάς καλά Χριστούγεννα και χαρούμενες γιορτές με ασφάλεια και υγεία. Στέλνω επίσης ολόψυχα τις καλύτερες ευχές μου για ευτυχισμένο, ειρηνικό και δημιουργικό 2022, που θα μας βρει πίσω στο σχολείο ανανεωμένους, γερούς και δυνατούς, αισιόδοξους και αφοσιωμένους στην προσπάθεια για πρόοδο και για ένα καλύτερο αύριο.
