[PIO] Members of the Parliament's delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union will participate in a regional conference on the Sustainable

MEPs Mr. Averof Neophytou and Mr. Stefanos Stefanou, head and member, respectively, of the Cypriot delegation to the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), will participate in the 3rd IP regional seminar for the Group of 12+, on the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals. The seminar, which is part of a series of regional seminars held around the world, is co-organised by the IC and the Parliament of France on 18 and 19 January 2024. The delegation will be accompanied by the Senior International Relations Officer, Ms Augusta Christou.

The main objective of the seminar is to promote the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) by strengthening the sense of belonging at national, regional and international level. The seminar will discuss, among other topics, the path towards sustainable development and the green transition and the institution of open parliaments and innovation.

The seminar will also include a presentation on the application of sustainability principles in the preparation and organisation of the Olympic and Paralympic Games to be hosted by Paris in 2024.
