The Minister of Justice and Public Order, Mr Marios Hartsiotis, during a working visit to Athens, met today in turn with the Minister of Citizen Protection, Mr Michalis Chrysochoidis, and the Minister of Social Cohesion and Family, Ms Sofia Zacharaki.
During the meeting with Mr. Chrysochoidis, the two Ministers exchanged views on the strengthening of cooperation between Cyprus and Greece regarding organised crime, terrorism and migration. Mr. Hartsiotis and Mr. Chrysochoidis reaffirmed the excellent bilateral relations and agreed to further deepen cooperation on issues within the competence of the two Ministries.
During the meeting with Ms. Zacharaki, it was agreed to conclude a memorandum of cooperation on issues of equality and gender-based violence, through the exchange of know-how, best practices and the promotion of joint actions. On the occasion of the signing of the Memorandum, Ms. Zacharaki accepted the invitation of the Minister of Justice and Public Order to visit Cyprus.
