[PIO] Meeting of the Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment with the Ambassador of Israel to Cyprus

Issues of mutual interest were discussed, focusing on climate change, forest firefighting and water management

Minister of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment Costas Kadis met yesterday with the Ambassador of Israel to Cyprus Mr. Oren Anolik. The meeting, which took place in a friendly and cordial atmosphere, provided an opportunity to confirm the long-standing excellent relations between the two countries and to discuss ways to further strengthen their cooperation in a wide range of responsibilities of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment. During the meeting, the issues arising from the previous meeting of the two officials were discussed and the will for further cooperation on issues of addressing climate change, strengthening forest firefighting and rational water management was confirmed.

In particular, the Minister informed the Ambassador about the latest developments in the initiative announced by the President of the Republic of Cyprus for regional cooperation and coordination of actions to address climate change in the wider Eastern Mediterranean region. To this end, a visit of Kostas Kadis to Israel is planned for the next period.
