[PIO] Meeting of the Commissioner for Rural Payments with the President of the Ecologist-Citizens' Movement

In the framework of a series of meetings, held by the Commissioner for Rural Payments Mr. Andreas Kyprianou with various groups and organized bodies, a meeting was held today with the President of the Movement of Ecologists-Civic Co-operation Mr. George Perdikis at the offices of the Movement.

The meeting discussed issues related to the agricultural and rural economy, the interventions subsidized by the Cyprus Agricultural Payments Organisation (CAP), the various problems faced by farmers/applicants and especially the ways to facilitate the Cypriot farmer and in general ways and methods to facilitate farmers, in order to fully absorb all European Union funds related to agriculture.

Mr. Perdikis expressed the Movement's full support to the institution of the Commissioner and his satisfaction with the functioning of the Organization. He noted that there will be full cooperation between the Movement and the Agency, and the Commissioner personally, in order to achieve their common goal, which is the good of the agricultural economy of Cyprus.
