The President of the Republic of Cyprus Mr. Nicos Christodoulides and Eni CEO Claudio Descalzi met today in Nicosia to discuss Eni's activities and future projects in the country.

Specifically, President Christodoulides and Eni's CEO reviewed the discoveries made in 2022, by Eni and its partner TotalEnergies, on the Kronos and Zeus targets, which led to the drilling of the Kronos 2 well in late 2023. The latter included a production test in early 2024, which yielded excellent quality and increased gas volumes. While the data acquired is still under study, the encouraging results of the previous wells have already been confirmed.

The meeting was an opportunity to discuss a common expedited approach that enabled drilling evaluation when assessing multiple development scenarios. Highlights of the preferred solutions to effectively meet domestic, regional as well as European energy priorities in the short and long term have been outlined.

Eni has had a presence in Cyprus since 2013. The company operates blocks 2, 3, 6, 8 and 9 and is involved in the exploitation of blocks 7 and 11.
