[PIO] Information on the classification of the recruits of the 2024 ESSO

The Ministry of Defence, in view of the classification of the new recruits of the 2024 ESSO, which will take place from 8 to 12 July 2024 at the Larnaca, Limassol and Camp "Chr. Samara" in Athalassa and from 10 to 12 July 2024 at the KEN Paphos, reminds the following:

1. The recruits are requested to report for enlistment on the specified date and time, as indicated in the enlistment invitation note, in military uniform (if they have received it), cut and shaved, having necessarily with them:

a. The identity card or any other official document of the Republic, bearing the number of the identity card, proving their identity.

b. The invitation to enlist that they have received in their e-mail immediately after the electronic submission of the declaration of selection data or that they have been served by the competent Recruitment Office (may also be presented in electronic form).

c. Medical certificate in case the recruits receive medication for medical reasons.

d. Medical opinions - reports on health problems which they have, in order to determine their ability to fulfil their military obligations, in case they have not presented themselves for examination to the Health Committees in the previous period.

e. Bank account certificate (IBAN) in case the bank account details were not submitted in the online platform or were not provided during the examination by the Health Committees.

f. Certificate of vaccination status and blood group in case the recruits have not submitted them in the online platform or have not submitted them during the examination by the Health Committees.

2. All clothing and footwear and materials charged will be compulsorily required to be presented on the next day of their enlistment in the Unit in which they are selected to serve. If problems arise in the sizes of uniforms, boots, etc., they should present them at the time of their classification for change at the Classification Centres.

3. At the time of enlistment, each enlistee will be informed of the Unit in which he/she has been selected to serve through the program software.

4. At the conclusion of enlistment, recruits will be issued an overnight stay and a Route Sheet for their Unit, with an obligation to report the following day.

5. Their Unit phone numbers will be listed on the Marching Sheet through which they can be contacted for any information they may need.

6. Recruits who are selected to serve in Units within their garrison of residence will report the next day by their own means. Those selected to serve outside their garrison of residence will be transported by buses of the "Free Movement of Soldiers Scheme", provided they declare at the time of enlistment. Relevant information regarding the exact location and time of departure of the buses will be communicated to them on the day of their enlistment.

7. It is noted that the swearing-in ceremony is scheduled for July 26, 2024. Further information about the place and time of the swearing-in ceremonies will be given to the recruits by their Unit Commands.
