Annual Change in Sales 3.7%
In November 2023, total sales of petroleum products reached 119,253 tonnes, an increase of 3.7% compared to November 2022. An increase was recorded in the supply of oil to aircraft (25.8%) as well as in the sales of heavy fuel oil (28.4%), motor oil (6.6%) and gasoline (6.0%). In contrast, a decrease was recorded in the sales of light fuel oil (-17.4%), bitumen (-5.2%), heating oil (-3.7%), kerosene (-2.9%) and LPG (-1.5%). As for sales from petroleum product stations in particular, they increased by 4.5% to 56,282 tonnes.
Total sales of petroleum products in November 2023, compared to October 2023, fell by 8.7%.

Indicatively, oil supplies to aircraft (-40.5%) and gasoline sales (-2.3%) decreased, while in contrast, sales of motor oil (2.7%), heating oil (55.1%) and kerosene (88.6%) increased. Total stocks of petroleum products at the end of November 2023 increased by 2.0% compared to the end of the previous month.
In the period January - November 2023, total sales of petroleum products recorded a marginal increase (0.3%) compared to the same period last year.

Methodological Information
Purpose and Coverage
To collect data on Imports, Sales and Stocks of Petroleum Products is carried out on a monthly basis.
It covers sales of petroleum products from petroleum service stations and sales to government departments, British Bases and the United Nations, ships and other customers, as well as stocks at the end of each month. Only oil companies are covered. In addition, it includes imports of petroleum products directly from the Cyprus Electricity Authority (CPA) and the manufacturing industry.
Data Collection
Data is collected on a monthly basis by the Statistical Service, which receives the specially designed questionnaire electronically from each of the companies concerned.
