The continuation of the upward trend of the Swiss market is feasible
Substantial and very important were the contacts held yesterday, Tuesday 30 January in Zurich by the Deputy Minister of Tourism, Mr.Costas Koumis.
Specifically, Mr. In particular, Mr. Koumis met with senior executives of tourism organizations that carry out programmes to our country, where they exchanged views on the course of the Swiss market in 2023, the degree of satisfaction of Swiss visitors, issues related to special forms of tourism, as well as the current air connection between the two countries in view, of course, of the current year.
It is noted that the Swiss market reached 73,000 arrivals in 2023, recording an increase of 20% compared to the previous year.
In the context of his visit, the Deputy Minister of Tourism Mr. Kostas Koumis was also interviewed by a well-known Swiss magazine specializing in tourism issues.
In his statements, the Deputy Minister of Tourism Mr. Costas Koumis said the following.
The average per capita expenditure of Swiss visitors, which is considerably higher than the overall average per capita expenditure, in conjunction with the tourist profile of Swiss visitors are the elements that make the Swiss market particularly interesting.
Following the contacts we have had, and taking into account the airline seats on offer, we estimate that a reasonable increase is possible compared to last year.
If this happens, we expect to reach 80.000 arrivals, which would be the best performance in the last twenty years compared to the Swiss market."
