[PIO] Implementation of an animal welfare education programme in primary schools

The Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment (MARD), with the contribution of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth, announces that it is implementing a programme to educate children on animal welfare issues, which includes an interactive presentation by officials of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment.

The programme is mainly addressed to children of the second cycle, lasts for two school terms and covers the following topics.

- Domestic, productive and wild animals.

- Animal welfare and basic freedoms.

- Responsible ownership of pets.

- Responsible ownership of pets.

- Aspects of the veterinary profession.

Children participating in the programme will be given a copy of the book "Myths and Truths about Pets", which is available at https:/moa.gov.cy/mediastuff/uploads/2023/07/MYTHOI-KAI-ALITHIES-GIA-TA-ZOA-SYNTROFIAS.pdf.
