The Administrative Tribunal for International Protection (hereinafter referred to as the ICJ) is implementing from 1 May 2022 the co-funded project entitled "Strengthening the Judicial Service through the ICJ". This project is implemented under the Asylum, Migration and Integration Fund, co-financed by the European Union (EU) at 75% and the Republic of Cyprus at 25%, with a duration of 68 months (until 31/12/2027).
In the framework of the implementation of this project, the Judicial Service through the Administrative Tribunal for International Protection is strengthened through the recruitment of temporary employees and the provision of the necessary equipment to carry out their tasks, with the aim of managing the increased volume of appeals from applicants for international protection.
In particular, through the programme, the following have been recruited:
[*]Ten (10) Administrative Officers with Legal Training (Cl. A8)
[*]Thirteen (13) Assistant Clerical Officers (Cl. A2) [*]Five (5) Court Stenographers (Cl. A2, 4th grade).
During the implementation of the project, the ICJ will be able to handle a higher volume of cases, resulting in a reduction of pending cases at the end of the project. By extension, the project is expected to improve the functioning of the Republic of Cyprus (RoC) asylum system and contribute to a better management of migration flows.
