The Speaker of the House of Representatives on behalf of the House and the Cypriot people sent today to the Speaker of the House of Representatives Mr. The message reads as follows:
"It is with great anguish and sadness that we are watching the devastating natural disasters that are afflicting Greece.
"It is with great anguish and sadness that we are watching the devastating natural disasters that are afflicting Greece. From the widespread fires of the summer to the deadly floods, from the flattened Evros to the dystopian lagoon of Thessaly, the images of the last weeks and days can only be described as a "national tragedy". Humanity is deep in the midst of the climate crisis and Greece is currently in the eye of its cyclone.
As Greek Cypriots, the least we can do is this message of support. The House of Representatives and the entire Cypriot people sympathise with the loss of human lives, the loss of property, the natural disasters, the irreparable damage to fauna and biodiversity.
On behalf of the House of Representatives and the Cypriot state and society, I express my sincere condolences to the families and loved ones of the unfortunate dead and hope that the tragic toll will cease as this message is being written. Remember that Cyprus always remains at Greece's side to offer whatever it can and to help alleviate the pain and mitigate the disaster."
