It is with great pleasure that I am here today for the delivery ceremony of a 55-seat bus to meet the needs of the Hellenic Force of Cyprus (ELDYK), donated by OPAP Cyprus, which I feel the need to thank publicly.

Taking this opportunity and addressing the ELDYK administration, I would like once again to convey the heartfelt thanks of the Cypriot state to the Greek government and the Greek people for their offer, their brotherly support and their constant support to the Republic of Cyprus. The presence of the ELDYK in our semi-occupied homeland gives courage and strength to the Cypriot Hellenism and contributes substantially to the strengthening of our fighting power.

Through its actions, OPAP Cyprus supports the armed forces, but also the Cypriot society at large, with sponsorships over the years, in order to improve the quality of life of citizens in matters of education, health, environment and culture.

I would like to thank you warmly for the excellent cooperation we have enjoyed over the years. With your practical support, you contribute to strengthening the plans of the Ministry of Defence, for example with the construction of the training facilities at the Evangelos Florakis Naval Base and the supply of equipment for existing gyms in National Guard camps and outposts.

Your commendable actions fuel us with more will to continue our work and at the same time oblige us to live up to your expectations. We hope that others will follow your example.

As the Ministry of Defence, we are constantly promoting the inculcation and establishment of road awareness, the most important of which is the institution of free bus transport. Our goal, above all, is to protect our children. This bus will also be used for this purpose.

Dear friends of OPAP Cyprus, thank you for your tireless and continuous contribution.
