It is with great pleasure, honour and emotion that I am here today to welcome the "Environmental Festival in the Village". We are here not only to celebrate but also to strengthen the efforts being made in environmental and climate education in our schools, especially those schools outside of urban centers.

Initiatives like that of the Climate Early project, in which we see small-scale collaborations in school education, are vital for the future of our children and our planet and strengthen our hope for a healthier and more sustainable world.

Initiatives like that of the Climate Early project, in which we see small-scale collaborations in school education, are vital for the future of our children and our planet and strengthen our hope for a healthier and more sustainable world. The contribution of RESET, a company with many years of experience in research and education, the teachers of Pelendri and Trimiklini Primary Schools and Friends of the Earth (Malta) is admirable as they promote environmental education and raise awareness among younger generations.

The integration of environmental education and education for sustainable development in all educational levels of our country is a strategic objective of the Environmental and Sustainable Development Education Unit of the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth (officially established in 2018), contributing to the formation of the sustainable school, which will act as an agent of environmental and social change.

In addition to the rich and multifaceted work implemented by the Education Unit for the Environment and Sustainable Development, there are also lucky and blessed schools where teachers, with their dedication and passion, manage to inspire and motivate students to take extra action. Teachers who are heroes of everyday life, who with small yet big steps change our world for the better. Teachers who take the time to work beyond the "expected" framework, who have vision and passion, who fight for partnerships, who turn their ideas into projects and apply for funding to provide children with as many more resources as they can.

Engaging schools in projects like Climate Early is not just an educational activity, but a journey that inspires and transforms the hearts and minds of our children.

Engaging schools in projects like Climate Early is not just an educational activity, but a journey that inspires and transforms the hearts and minds of our children. Through experiential learning, students not only gain knowledge about climate change, but also learn to love and respect the environment, actively contributing to its protection.

And you, dear parents, by supporting schools' environmental initiatives, you are showing your children that our future depends on the actions of each and every one of us. Parent-school collaboration creates a strong support network that can lead to real change and that extends from the home to the community and beyond.

Today, the Office of the Environment Commissioner welcomes, welcomes and supports such actions. Environmental education from an early age strengthens children's environmental awareness and better equips new generations to protect and care for our planet.

I am sure that the "Village Environmental Festival" is an important step in this direction, and I congratulate you, children, parents and teachers for the knowledge and inspiration you offer us.

In conclusion, I would like to thank and congratulate the organizers and the institutions involved in today's festival-festival for the environment and wish them success and good fun in the beautiful events.
