Call for Proposals
The Ministry of Energy, Commerce and Industry (MICI) announces a Call for Applications under the 2nd Call for Proposals of the "Grant Scheme for the Creation, Modernisation and Digital Upgrading of Agricultural Product Processing and/or Marketing Units". The total amount to be made available, as a result of savings from the 1st Call of the Scheme, will be at least €3 million, to which will be added any other savings resulting from the completion of the implementation of the 1st Call.
The application period will start on 9 April 2024 at 9 a.m, and applications will only be accepted via the YECB's online Grant Scheme System, using Chrome, Firefox and Edge browsers, until 31 May 2024 at 11.59 pm or until the available budget is exhausted. It is clarified that due to the additional savings expected from the 1st Call, applications will be accepted for a total budget of €7 million, however the maximum amount of approvals will not exceed the available budget of the Grant Scheme. The order of priority will be determined on the basis of the order of submission of proposals (direct evaluation).
The Scheme will be implemented under Measure C3.1I6 of the Cyprus Recovery and Resilience Plan and will be funded by the European Union (EU) Recovery and Resilience Mechanism. It aims to support existing and new Small and Medium-sized Enterprises, as defined in Annex I to the Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union, which are or will be active in the processing and/or marketing of agricultural products and services. Activities related to the fisheries and aquaculture sectors, wines and wine vinegar listed in Part II of Annex VII of Regulation (EU) 1308/2013 are not covered by the Scheme.
It is stressed that enterprises in difficulty which meet the criteria set out in Article 2(18) of Regulation (EU) No 651/2014, are not eligible for sponsorship under this Scheme.
Interested parties may obtain the final Guide to the Scheme, which contains all the details, as well as other required forms or documents, from the website of the Department of Industry and Technology.
