The graduation ceremony of the Submarine Destroyers, who completed the 84th School of Submarine Destruction Teams (SCT), took place today, Friday, at the "Evangelos Florakis" Naval Base in Mari. Vassilis Palmas, the Chief of the National Guard Lieutenant General Georgios Tsitsikostas, the Director General of the Ministry of Defence Mr. Andreas Louka, members of the Parliamentary Defence Committee, the hierarchy of the General Staff, a delegation of officers, as well as the families of the young frogmen.

The graduation ceremony and the awarding of the Navy's insignia is the culmination of the demanding and persistent training, which those who choose to serve in the Submarine Disaster Unit attend.

In a short greeting, the Chief, after congratulating the new Submarine Destroyers, urged them to continue training uninterruptedly, with the same intensity, since the constant effort to improve their skills is a one-way street. He also advised them to proceed on the difficult course they have chosen with wisdom and reason, as defined by the motto that adorns their arm, "ROME AFTER FREEDOM".

The Chief then stressed to the young SEALs that, though few in number, they are only meant for the hard stuff. They must be determined to vigorously carry out their mission anywhere, anytime and under any circumstances. He concluded by thanking their families and urged them to feel proud that their children are serving in this elite section of the National Guard.
