The Dental Services of the Ministry of Health, in the context of their efforts to promote the oral health of the children's population in Cyprus, will implement for the school year 2023-24, the programme of free dental care for children of the 5th grade of public and private primary schools in cooperation with the Cyprus Dental Association.
According to the programme, all children in Grade 5, with the written consent of their parents, during the period October 2023-January 2024, will be examined by a dentist of the Dental Services and, if dental problems are identified, they will be given a referral for free dental treatment at a private dentist participating in the programme. The costs of providing dental care by private dentists will be covered by the budget of the Dental Services. Private dentists will be paid on the basis of pre-agreed prices as part of their community service. The deadline for children to visit a private dentist to receive free dental care is September 30, 2024.
