The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today, Sunday, June 2, 2024, at 11:11, a fire broke out in the location "Archangeloudkia", at the boundaries of the community of Kornou.
The intervention of the forest firefighting forces was immediate, resulting in the fire being brought under control at 12:00, burning a small area covered with dry grasses and low wild vegetation.
19 people from the Forestry Department with six fire engines participated in the extinguishing operation.
The exact causes of the fire are being investigated.
