The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that yesterday, Saturday, 23 September 2023 at 13:40, a fire broke out in an area of the community of Alhambra, near the State Forest of Miskopos I.
The fire was brought under full control at 2:30 p.m. after burning a two-decade area of wild vegetation, dry grass and trash.
Sixteen Forestry Department personnel with five fire engines and three Fire Department personnel with one fire truck were involved in extinguishing the fire.
The causes of the fire are being investigated.
