The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that yesterday, Sunday, June 30, 2024, at 17:35, a fire broke out in an area of the community of Kleros, near the church of Panagia Chryseleousa (Panagia tou Lagni).
The intervention of the forest firefighting forces was immediate, resulting in the fire being brought under full control at 17:50 before it spread, having burned an area of one decimeter with deforestation.
Six Forestry Department personnel with two fire trucks and two Fire Department personnel with one fire truck worked to extinguish the fire.
The causes of the fire are being investigated.
