The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today, Wednesday, April 17, 2024 at 15:35, a fire broke out in an area near the community of Pyrgos Limassol.
The intervention of the forest firefighting forces was immediate, resulting in the fire being brought under control at 16:30, burning an area of five decares of crops and low wild vegetation.
9 persons of the Forestry Department with 3 fire engines and 3 persons of the Fire Service with 1 fire engine participated in the extinguishing operation.
The exact causes of the fire are being investigated.
