The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that on Thursday, August 15, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., a fire broke out in two outbreaks at a distance of 20 meters from the boundaries of the Kelli National Forest.
The fire was brought under full control at 12:53, after burning an area of two decares, covered with thatch.
Twelve Forest Department personnel with five fire engines and three Fire Department personnel with one fire truck operated to extinguish the fire.
The fire is estimated to have been set maliciously.
