The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that the fire that broke out today, at 13:05, at the boundaries of the communities of Apsiou - Gerasa is still ongoing.
Strong ground firefighting forces, as well as a firefighting aircraft of the Forestry Department and two helicopters of the National Guard are operating to extinguish the fire.
Additional firefighting forces are heading to the area to assist in the extinguishing work.
