The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today, Thursday, 27 June 2024, at 16:15, a fire broke out in an area of the Agia Varvara Community of Nicosia.
The fire was brought under full control at 16:40, burning an area of three decares of wild vegetation.
15 people from the Forestry Department with five fire engines and three people with one fire engine from the Fire Service operated to extinguish the fire. Six private tractors were also involved.
The cause of the fire is being investigated.
