The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today, Monday, 30 May 2022 at 12:40 pm, a fire broke out in an area of Kato Deuteras Community, Nicosia District.
The intervention of the forest firefighting forces was immediate, resulting in the fire being brought under control at 13:25, burning an area of 6.0 decares of low wild vegetation.
Four members of the Forestry Department with one fire engine and three members of the Fire Service with one fire engine participated in the extinguishing operation.
The exact causes of the fire are being investigated.
