[PIO] Forest fire in an area of the community of Kathika under full control

The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today, Tuesday 25 June 2024, at 14:50, a fire occurred in the location "Trygonia" of the community of Kathika, Paphos District.

The fire was brought under full control at 16:10 after burning an area of five hectares of crops and wild vegetation.

25 people with seven fire engines and two earth movers from the Forestry Department and ten people with four fire engines from the Fire Service operated to extinguish the fire. Four aircraft assisted from the air.
