The Forestry Department of the Ministry of Agriculture, Rural Development and Environment announces that today Tuesday June 25, 2024 at 17:00 a fire broke out in the location "Archangeloudi" of the community of Athienou, Larnaca District.
The fire was brought under full control at 18:00, burning an area of 1.2 hectares covered with dry grass, low wild vegetation, pine trees, cypresses and wild olive trees.
12 people from the Forestry Department with three fire engines and two people with one fire engine from the Fire Service were involved in extinguishing the fire.
The causes of the fire are being investigated.
